The Betchworth Village Archives consist of documents, photographs, maps and some artefacts, all relating to Betchworth. Everything has been donated by those interested in the history of the parish, with much coming from the late Meg Ryan. We also have some Oral History interviews.
The Archives are stored in The Hamilton Room in Church Street and the archivists, Karen Wilson and Jane Lilley, work every Tuesday on cataloguing, transcribing and research, including email research requests. During the summer months, when weather permits, we work in the churchyard recording memorials and inscriptions. We have a display board outside the Hamilton Room which is regularly updated with new displays.
We hold annual exhibitions, some of which are listed below:
2013: Betchworth 1840 and 1940
2014: Betchworth in the First World War
2015: Medieval Betchworth
