Climate Actions Meeting
Explore areas of suggested community actions following our Climate Emergency meeting
Scheduled: 2 November 2026 - 19:00 to 21:00
At our follow-up meeting on Monday 2 November, we hope to find people who are not just enthusiastic but who are willing to help lead our community to a better future. Through a collective planning process we will turn the strongest ideas into practical projects, each with people willing to lead it and a first step to take within weeks rather than years. The likely starting points are local food, community energy, looking after each other, nature and the River Mole, sustainable transport, preparing for extreme weather, and keeping up our collective voice. There will also be room for ideas we have not yet thought of.
Join us on Monday 2 November at 7pm, in Betchworth Village Hall. This is the meeting where ideas are turned into projects. Come along and leave with a group to join, a role that suits you and a first step to take before Christmas. You don’t need to be an expert, only willing to do one thing.
We are looking for people to lead or co-lead each project: local food, community energy, looking after our neighbours, nature and the River Mole, and sustainable transport. If you can give a little time, there will be a job for you; if you can give more, please consider taking a lead.
Can’t make Monday? Tell us which project you would like to help with by emailing admin@rebetchworth.org or registering at re-betchworth.org, and sign up for the Re-Betchworth newsletter to follow how each project gets on.
Bring someone who wasn’t in the room. One of the clearest messages of the night was to reach beyond those who came. Share this report, bring a neighbour on Monday, or ask us to arrange a screening of the film for your street, club, school or congregation.
