The Horticultural Society
Betchworth * Brockham * Buckland
With origins before 1900, the Society has a proud history of encouraging horticulture in the three villages, originally with annual Flower Shows.
Our events include :.
- Talks held in the darker months at the beginning of each year. Subjects have included keeping bees, bat conservation, the lives of gardeners, and regular gardening tips and advice.
- Plant sale in May.
- Members only open garden.
- The Flower Show in September is the highlight of the gardening calendar. An opportunity for members to exhibit the beautiful flowers, fruit and vegetables they have nurtured over the year. There are also classes for crafts, cookery, photography and for children.
- Flower arranging workshops, including making Christmas wreaths.
- The November AGM is an opportunity for members to hear an official report from the Committee, a chance to air their views and catch up with each other.
